Veles

Old name: Bila Zora (means White Dawn).
His new (present) name Veles derives from the fact that this settlement was in forests ("v les").
During the Ottoman rule, surrounding forest were cut down, and then the erosion wiped the soil.

Veles is a city in central North Macedonia.
